Baked Corn Tortilla Chips (Baked Nachos)

A nice little snack is always a good idea, whatever the time of the day! And to know that you have a stash of tasty yet healthy snacks ready feels great. These baked corn tortilla chips are easy, quick to make and tasty! Tortilla chips can be either deep fried or baked. Honestly, baked is almost never as good as fried. But still, these are quite good. And you have to taste to believe. I have seasoned them with garlic powder and oregano, so mine got finished off before I could make a dip! So, simple ingredients, simple technique, hardly takes time, it cannot be better!

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup Maize Flour
  • 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil, extra for brushing
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 tsp Chilli flakes
  • Salt as per taste.
Method
  • Mix all the ingredients and using little water, make a dough.
  • Make small balls and roll them out thin and round.
  • On a hot pan, cook on both sides until small golden spots appear.
  • Make tortillas from all balls.
  • Now generously brush the tortillas with olive oil on both sides.
  • Cut them in triangles and lay them on a baking tray taking care that none of them overlap.
  • Place them in an oven preheated at 160 degrees Celsius.
  • Bake for around 7 to 10 minutes until golden.
  • Rotate the baking tray in between to cook them evenly.
  • Enjoy!

Notes
  • Any flavorless oil can be used in place of olive oil.
  • They can be seasoned with spices of choice.
