A snack or two does keep us going. After all, we all love something to munch. I had been looking for healthier snacking options for a while when I stumbled upon this. These crackers were a hit in our family! And it wasn't hours of work in the kitchen either! I used the wholewheat flour we use to make chapati. Believe me, all the ingredients are waiting in your kitchen to be mixed and baked! So lets get started.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 Cup wholewheat flour
- 35 grams cold butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil (or vegetable oil)
- 1-1/2 tsp sugar
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- Salt to taste
- Mixed herbs to taste.
Method
- Preheat the oven at 200 degrees Celsius.
- In a mixing bowl add the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and mixed herbs.
- Add the butter and rub it into the flour till it is nicely mixed in the flour mixture.
- Now add the oil and with the help of some water knead the dough slightly so that it comes together.
- Cover and chill the dough in the refrigerator for half an hour.
- Roll the dough on a well floured surface with the help of a rolling pin. Roll it as thin as possible. Make sure it is evenly rolled.
- Cut out the crackers with a cutter. Prick them all over with the help of a fork.
- Bake them for 10 minutes or until they start to turn brown.
- Allow them to cool.
- Enjoy!
Enjoy these crackers as is, or with tzatziki, or even hummus. They work as a great appetizer too!
Do experiment with these crackers and let me know how it went for you! Leave me a comment :)
