Mocha Daliya

We all hold our coffee dear to our heart. Its something most of us cannot imagine our mornings without! So why not make our mornings even more exciting by making this daliya which is appetizing as well as filling. Children are going to love it, and so are adults! Whats best is, you can make it at night and refrigerate it. Breakfast would simply be waiting for you the next morning! This recipe is definitely one of my favorites, simple and easy as it is!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup daliya
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon coffee
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • 2-3 drops of vanilla essence
  • a pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • Roasted and chopped almonds
Method
  • Heat the water and milk together. Add the coffee and cocoa powder, sugar, a pinch of salt and vanilla essence. Stir.
  • After the mixture comes to a boil, add the daliya.
  • Cover and cook for at least 15-20 minutes or until the daliya absorbs all the liquid.
  • Let this sit for a couple of hours. This will help the daliya absorb the flavours of coffee and chocolate.
  • After 2-3 hours, serve either hot or cold with your choice of fruits as topping. Garnish with roasted and chopped almonds.

Notes:
  • Add nutella to it to add a hazelnut flavor.
  • Quantity of milk can be increased or decreased depending on how creamy you want it to be.
  • Add all seasonal fruits to it to make it more healthy.
